what is UP internet?? my name is devin but everyone calls me dev, so do whatchu want. shit im realizing i have no idea how to introduce myself. okay...

i'm 17, and as i'm writing this, it is the summer before my senior year of high school. i've dedicated this summer to being THE summer. like the one i look back on in my thirties like "shit the summer of 2024 was the shit."

i have three best friends: sunny, connor, and jackson. love them to death.

i have like a GAZILLION aesthetics i switch between, it's INSANE! last fall/winter, i dressed exclusively dark academia. dress pants, dress shirts, sweaters and sweater vests, blazers, leather bags, the whole nine yards. i love reading and learning languages. OH! OH MY GOD BIG PLOT POINT! I GO TO SCHOOL FOR OPERA! in my area, there is a special art school that takes eight different school districts, and i'm in the vocal music department, which is classical singing and opera! we perform our operas at a college theatre! BUT THIS UPCOMING YEAR IT'S GONNA BE AT A REALLY BIG THEATRE???? OUR NORMAL VENUE HAS LIKE 300 SEATS BUT NEXT YEARS WILL HAVE 1300 CUZ WE"RE A PART OF A FESTIVAL?? AND WE'RE ALSO DOING AN OPERA WRITTEN BY A CHILD PRODIGY WHO IS CURRENTLY 19???? AND SHE'S GONNA CONDUCT US TOO!????? 

A N D T H E N???? WE HAVE AN OPERA SCENES CONCERT WE'RE TOURING AROUND I T A L Y!! MY NONNA IS FROM SICILY AND I'VE BEEN STUDYING ITALIAN FOR A WHILE NOW, AND WE HAVE A SHOW IN VENICE, FLORENCE, AND ROME!!! IT'S GONNA BE SO FUN!!!! we're also doing both a jazz show and a musical theatre show, which i'm excited for :)

back to aesthetics, i also switch from dark academia to like 60s/70s funk (but i'm white so like whatever you'd imagine a white boy looks like all groovy OMG WAIT IMAGINE FRED FROM SCOOBY DOO, THATS THE SHIT I BE ON), then to 70s/80s glam rock, then to surfer/beach boy for the summer cuz i live at the beach, then sometimes i end up a bit grunge, then sometimes full on emo-scene-internet-slut (??) but i haven't been THAT emo in a long time.

for right now, my general fashion sense is that surfer summer boy with some groovy funk thrown in, we'll see what happens when fall comes around...

I HAVE PLENTY OF STAPLE INTERESTS THAT MAKE ME ME BUT RN IM RLLY INTO: jake webber (and johnnie guilbert), ayesha erotica, chuckle sandwich (and all three of their individual content), and skyrim

i cycle thru my hobbies and interests, where i get REALLY into one and then forget about it for a couple months, then come back to it. BUT, jake and johnnie are actually new. i've been into those other three for YEARS.

my other BIG MAIN INTERESTS AREEEE: literally like all fucking music i stg. I NEED TO MAKE AN ENTIRE NEW POST LISTING ALL THE BANDS I LISTEN TO BECAUSE THERE ARE TOO MANY TO MAKE A SHORT LIST!! ALSO I HAVE NO FAVORITE BECAUSE OF HOW DIVERSE MY INTERESTS ARE!!

anyway, MUSIC! instruments too. i have three guitars (a bass, an acoustic, and an electric) and a shitty little amazon keyboard because i just needed something to help learn my music, not anything to play big pieces on. 

other interestssss: anything crafty, i love papercrafts, making jewelry, sewing, and just MAKING SHIT! i collect physical media (books, CDs, DVDs, vinyls), thats a huge interest of mine. i love the concept of language and just linguistics in general, but i'll talk more about that later.

oh my god now that i'm trying to list my interests, i want to make a separate blog for that, i'm gonna do that.

BACK TO THE SUMMER THING! IT'S MY FIRST SUMMER WITH A CAR AND A LICENSE SO I CAN JUST GO WHEREVER I WANT AND JUST DO SHIT!!!???!??! MY DAD IS RLLY CHILL SO HE JUST DOESNT CARE WHERE I GO OR WHAT I DO OR WHO I HAVE OVER AT THE HOUSE SO IM JUST STRAIGHT UP VIBIN???
