review (not rlly) of A Study In Scarlet

I actually rlly liked the novel(way more than a study in pink might I add)!!

i was initially very confused @ the start of pt 2 w/ the mormons (i js wasnt expecting the pov change) but as it came 2 a close I found myself enjoying it and was honestly hoping that hope would have killed drebber + stangerson in the mountains earlier (but I was also counting the pages till it went back 2 watson). I didn't like John all that much but w/e. still quite enjoyed the story with him n Lucy anyways. (I actually kinda liked lucy 2).

I liked sherlock way more in this (shocker) (conan doyle can actually write, unlike some guys ik), he actually felt like a Human Guy. he'll probably just get more annoying as I get thru the next few novels/stories, but from this novels characterisation, he was enjoyable to read. I looked forward 2 hearing his deductions than absolutely dreading them, like I did in 1 particular TV series. they made sense (like the watch).

watson was a little annoying, but it's tolerable, but i am biased. he was right when he called London a cesspool (I've never been 2 london). his most major L was being a soldier (gigantic L). tbh, at times he felt like sherlocks own oc he inserted 2 b like "wow ur so cool sherlock". he didn't speak 4 scenes @ a time and I'd only remember he was there coz it'd end w/ sherlock saying "cmon let's go watson". gayass.

very much enjoyed wiggins. didn't enjoy how the others spoke of him. but in those moments, I have 2 remember this novel was written in like 1887 and set in 1870. I still don't enjoy it, but nthn I can do abt it.

DIDNT enjoy the multiple monologues that were half/three quarters a chapter long. sherlock had 1, an hope had 1, an Gregson had 1 and there were 2 many 4 one novel. what the fuck. does no1 kno how 2 b consice??

overall, I quite enjoyed it. surprised it took me this long 2 go ahead an read it. 7/10, excited 2 read the sign of four.
