Hey SpaceSleepers (22): Gas in My Stove

I feel like it’s a bit more of a personal topic, and by that, I mean it is something I have gone through since I was a child. Starting with something simple, I have a very extreme paranoia about gas leaks. I know quite a few people who have had gas leaks in their homes in the past, which makes the threat of one quite real to me personally. It makes me hypervigilant of the threat, mostly because of the amount of brain and nerve damage that gas leaks are known to cause. Mostly, I specifically worry about gas leaking from pipes in my kitchen or bathroom, as my building manager has a vendetta against my mother, it’s a bit of a bad situation for us to be in.

Anyways, a few weeks back while lounging on the couch, a sulfuric smell seemed to just be everywhere even when I left the room. I thought that it must be a gas leak, as that is what information concerning those kinds of situations tended to describe the odor is to be sulfuric. Thus, I consulted my mother, who remained on the couch. She kind of quelled my fears of the gas leak by discussing her experiences with them growing up with a gas stove and in the countryside. Honestly, I have a bit of a fear of things like this and it has caused me to have a lot of strife in my day-to-day. (06/28/2024)
