I feel like people on social media - mainly Twitter just don't know when to be decent human beings, twitter users (it's not x) will go out of their way to harass and dox people over the most mundane things imagineable, they'll choose the most toxic way of dealing with things and it's baffling
Places like twitter, Reddit, even here, are affected by toxicity and trolls, and I feel like toxicity will always seep in no matter what

This is how I feel as well. Today, I had a serious panic attack after seeing gore on instagram. what really disgusted me is, this wasn't the first time i've experience something awful or traumatizing on instagram or tiktok.
Hate. that's what social media and MEDIA IN GENERAL... is based on. Constant pain and misery. It's easier to feel negative and sad compared to feeling positive ig. It's awful.
I've deleted instagram today.

The internet has given people the ability to be total assholes with near anonymity and practically no accountability. It's much easier to insult someone behind a keyboard and a screen then it is to insult someone in real life since I feel like people tend to think of the person they're talking to online as not a real person and also if you tried to insult someone in real life, you'd probably get your ass handed to you.

Best thing (sarcasm) Abt Twitter doxxing is everyone will boost it if it's a queer/trans person but if you doxx a literal neo Nazi Elongated Muskrat himself will do everything in his power to protect the neo Nazis privacy and strike down whoever doxes them/spreads the info
no like actually its so crazy how people will go to the world's end to protect horrible people but when someone who was literally minding their own business gets doxxed they "deserved" it
that whole sketch situation is a prime example (came out that dude used to be a gay p0rn star before becoming a streamer which isnt bad at all and people lost their shit and started attacking him)

Agreed.. everything just feels so hostile now. It's demotivating, really. Thankfully, there will always be those small safespaces but who knows how long they'll last..

I think a lot of it came from when this site blew up on TikTok, before there were a lot of people from MySpace or interested in the old web, then there was a noticeable shift
Like there was drama on the old internet, but it's so much more inter-connected now. and there wasn't callout culture or DNI culture back then. People will intentionally keep stoking the fires until it's like yeah I can't really identify as a system or alterhuman on here peacefully anymore.
(I think in general a lot of stuff got worse when it blows up on TikTok, it happens with Tumblr in waves and it gets noticeably more discourse-heavy and toxic when it does, it also affected sites like Everskies and Chicken Smoothie)

frr, whatever you post on Reddit will be argued with and downvoted for no reason and Twitter is legitimately a cesspool that has too many bots/ads to function. Most of the terrible shit and gore I've seen on the internet has been on twitter

Spacehey is the one social media that will bring back what SM once was.

I'm a firm believer in the Dead Internet Theory. Majority of activity on a site like X or Facebook is purely bots. Not sure about Reddit or other sites, but X and Facebook almost definitely have at least 80% bot activity.
I only believe in Dead Internet Theory for Twitter exclusively
