I spent a lot of yesterday in between my language work and just chilling, probably because I had awoken around 3pm, rather than a more productive time like the 10:30am of today. I did, however, spend a lot of my time listening to CDs, specifically three CDs, between my Putumayo CDs — "Putumayo Presents: Brasileiro" and "Putumayo Presents: Brazilian Groove — and my CD of the recently released submarine album by The Marías (lapslock was a stylistic choice I am upholding). It wasn't that I don't have that many CDs, I have a medium cardboard box full of CDs (mostly by my mom and a few I purchased myself), as well a pull-out box in a shelf of HypMic CDs I bought in a bundle online. I have just been itching to listen to the Brasileiro Putumayo CD for the past few days and decided to pop the other two in after a few listens of it. I will make blog entries on my CDs with a lot more thoughts on two or three individual CDs per post EVENTUALLY but that's not what this post is really about. I listen to my CDs on a Sony CD Walkman that one of my best friends had picked out for me on eBay when I was looking for something to finally play them last year around Christmas after discussing a bit about quality. Basically quality has fallen a lot due to the main consumption of music not being through CDs but rather digital, something that causes there to be a lack of competition in making worthwhile players for them. This to some degree impacts the production of record players to a lesser degree as well even though the consumption of records have been on the uptick as of recent years, if you were curious. It's why people who talk about this tend to tell you to buy one secondhand as well as it being both more sustainable and cheaper in comparison to a newer produced one. I'm by no means an expert, just a guy who listens to music through CDs on his off-time.(06/26/2024). — Mars ᓚᘏᗢ |

I've never heard of Putumayo before, but they sound really interesting I think I'm gonna listen to them later

Thank you so much !!! Also yeah i really like Putumayo CDs a lot^^ the people behind it seem to try pretty hard to find good artists to feature all over from where they pull from. I've mostly only heard good things from their LATAM and European CDs, so idk about the rest but I've seen a lot of positive reviews online :D !!
