Come and see the sunset and other stories - Lygia Fagundes Telles

Hi, I'm Agata

and this is the beginning of my “review” of a book that I have been saving for YEARS and had the courage to read last week.

In terms of history, the book has 86 pages, with 8 short stories. biography and other texts at the end and beginning of the book.

(I'm translating via Google, sorry for any mistakes.)

A brief biography

Lygia during a meeting at the Ministry of Culture in 2011.

Lygia Fagundes Telles is a Brazilian writer born in 1918 and, unfortunately, died in 2022. A postmodernist writer who was considered the greatest Brazilian writer while alive, she talks in her stories about love, mystery and death. (in addition to being a writer, she was a lawyer, and won several awards).

Synopsis

Come and see the sunset and other stories

Inexplicable facts, which call into question the real and rational - like ants assembling the skeleton of a dwarf. Dramatic events that reveal the cruelty of the human soul - like the woman who takes her son for a walk and shows her dark side, which will mark the boy for the rest of his life. Such are the stories in this anthology, which brings together eight of the author's most representative texts. Narratives in which everyday life becomes unpredictable. In which the author managed to deceive us - hiding the secrets of her characters very well. To then reveal them with equal mastery.

I really liked the stories and I will talk about each one in the next blogs, this was just an introduction about the book and the author.

thanks for your attention

((I couldn't make everything visually aesthetic, because I don't understand much of the codes that can be used in SpaceHey. If you have any tips or recommendations to explain step by step, I'll be willing to learn to create more authentic and beautiful blogs.))
