I look forward to your stay,
But maybe I misunderstood,
All I wanted was to be forgotten,
Lost in the echo of time.
In your gaze, I see a story,
Hatred sighing softly,
Reflected in the depths of my eyes.
I just want to be hated,
A simpler pain to bear.
Late at night, I think of you,
Believing I was important,
The sunset of lies casts long shadows,
With butterflies resting on the lake.
I need you, you need me,
Yet you donβt care, I donβt care.
But still, late at night, I think of you,
Longing to be with you tonight.
In my dreams, we battle,
I swear to win the war,
But denial blinds my vision,
Hoping I deserved something more.
Reality slips through my fingers,
And now itβs all gone.
Late at night, I think of you,
Believing I was important,
The sunset of lies paints the sky,
With butterflies gliding over the lake.
I need you, you need me,
Yet you donβt care, I donβt care.
But still, late at night, I think of you,
Longing to be with you tonight.
Maybe it wasn't enough,
This victory feels so hollow,
I've hurt myself, you've hurt me, I've hurt you.
Why does this pain linger,
When all you brought was suffering?
Your arms hold her now,
While I stand in the shadows,
Hoping to be worthy, to find my way.
Late at night, I think of you,
Believing I was important,
The sunset of lies fades away,
With butterflies dancing on the lake.
I need you, you need me,
Yet you donβt care, I donβt care.
But still, late at night, I think of you,
Longing to be with you tonight.
Every night is a mirror,
Reflecting all we lost,
Hopes and dreams shattered,
In the quiet, I feel your ghost.
I search for solace in the stars,
But they whisper your name,
Each twinkling light a reminder,
Of a love we couldn't sustain
