Journal Entry #107: 06/23/24 - I'm back?

Hello again, it's been about a month. I haven't been feeling well, but I understand what's causing my ailment. I think I've just been overeating processed sugar and gluten, and my body is expressing its discomfort. Considering that I didn't have this problem before if I abstain for a while, it should hopefully go away.

As for other updates, I am now one of the many VPs in the student org that I'm a part of! However, a VP is more akin to a director than an actual VP role. I've been tasked with creating the organization's newsletter, and I just recently sent over the template. This week I'm going to be creating the first issue, which is quite exciting.

Also, I have acquired a few things shopping over the past few weeks. I joined my sister and mom shopping last Sunday, and there was so much blue clothing everywhere! However, I exercised great self-control and didn't buy everything that I saw lol. I did get a green and blue striped hoodie for only $8.40, which is quite a steal, especially with the state of the economy right now. It's a men's hoodie, so it's pretty roomy. I just put it in the wash, and I think it shrunk a little :(. I also got a nice blue halter top and some lanyards to put on my pants. I really wish they had hooks on both sides, but they're not actually meant for what I'm using them for. I also blinged them out a little with some star beads I got last year! Pics are below >>

As you can see, I really like blue and green things. They are my favorite colors to look at and wear! They also make an amazing pair. 

My sister's currently away at a business camp right now, meaning I have the upstairs portion of the house to myself, which is kind of nice. When my family and I helped move her in, I got kind of jealous. These dorms had separate rooms and everything! I wish I had more privacy freshman year. Oh well, freshman year's done now, so there isn't really any reason to be complaining. I'll be living in an apartment this coming academic year. However, there have been some problems. One, my room has to be painted and cleaned, meaning I can't move in until August 16th. Classes start on the 19th, so I won't have much time between moving into my apartment and going to class. Once again, I'll be the last to arrive. On top of that, since my roommates want/need to be there early, the common areas of the apartment will not be cleaned. This means we'll have to pay a cleaning fee to ensure that everything is spick and span, which is a little frustrating. On another note, although my two roommates will be freshmen, I hope we'll be able to get along.

While working on my work for the student org, I've been talking to one of the other members of leadership. We've talked personally, and for the most part, it's been great. We seem to disagree on some things, but that might as well be a given. He wants to go to this ice cream festival in Atlanta, however, transportation could be a problem, one that could be eased by staying at his house for a night. This guy has connections and is paying heavily discounted rent to stay in an empty, but family-sized house. He also wants to take me to a bar, although I'm underage. I understand it gets lonely living in a house like that, but I just don't know how I feel about this. In both of these situations, my safety could be easily compromised. I'm also not sure what we really are, in terms of what our relationship is. We all know what a guy means when he says he wants you to stay at his house...

A few other updates: I watched Top Gun earlier this week. It was a pretty good movie. It was extremely immersive. I also never talked about my class, which is going okay. I totally bombed the test we took on Thursday! Looks like I'll really have to pay attention to these last few lectures. Today I found myself engrossed in some chill vlogs from unemployed people. They're kind of what inspired me to start blogging again. I really hope to not be unemployed next summer though...

As for this week, I'll be finishing my engineering statistics class, submitting my first newsletter, going to the dentist, and (finally) getting my hair cut.
