I got at the arcade a few weeks before. I had come to obtain this strawberry holding Kumamon plushie keychain in one of the claw machines with my friend, I had him help spot me while I maneuvered to claw to pick up the plushie. I remember thinking that I probably wasn't going to get it, that even if the claw machines at this arcade were relatively new, I was still unlikely to get it, but it only took two tries and I was able to pluck it up. I felt a tinge of pride, I managed to get it. It felt like fate in a way, as strawberries had come to represent me in groups of friends (while my partner was represented by grapes) and I was particularly fond of Kumamon since I got a little sticky ball toy of him back when 14, visiting Taiwan for what I didn't know would be the last time for a long time. On the day of my Critical Thinking final (it's a philosophy class where they make us read a bunch of stuff about reasoning and biases but not enough that we actually make a significant change in our thinking processes) I decided to hang the keychain on my bag. It would be like a good luck charm and this being my final for the class, I wanted to have some good luck. I don't know when it had fallen off of my bag, I just know that when I was about a block away from my testing location (I get a separate testing room due to my disability), it was no longer on my messenger bag. Honestly, it really bummed me out because I brought it there for luck only to lose it before the test had even began. I didn't really have time to care about it because I wanted to be on time for my test and I had only slept three hours the night before the exam, so I just couldn't dwell on the loss. I ended up getting a new keychain of him with an orange but it simply didn't feel as meaningful. (06/22/2024) — Mars ᓚᘏᗢ |
