My Opinion On Scenecore/aesthetics

I honestly wasn't going to talk about this in blogs because of good reasons, but I think it's surprising that people still argue over aesthetics.

Scene is a beautiful subculture and I'm not saying at all that it should be replaced by Scenecore as a scene myself, but some people act way to shitty about this I feel like? As long as they aren't calling themselves something they aren't I don't think it truly matters at all and even then I don't think scene will ever be forgotten as a subculture and I admire the music and style and everything about it so much.

In my opinion, alot of scenecore kids are people just starting out and it's not like they will immediately like the older music and if you do introduce it to them PLEASE MAKE THEM GOOD SONG RECCOMENDATIONS not just the ones that are popular. It's incredibly funny to me when people hate on the aesthetic and then when I go to their profile it looks awfully close to it.. like how do you hate scenecore and then your entire profile looks like scenecore itself with rainbow checkers?? That's literally what scenecore looks like.

I've seen people use this as a reason to bodyshame people and a reason to bully them and even if they did call themselves "scene" it does not matter bro, that doesn't justify shit lol. I'm so tired of people obsessing with the younger generation to bully them for literally everything.

Do people even realize how hard it is to achieve the look in this timeline too? Stuff is expensive and they aren't going to be an extreme expert on this.

Yes scenecore and other aesthetics may be annoying because it can form different opinions on what subcultures are to newer people, but instead of justifying to bully the younger generation maybe educate people and spread kindness instead. Because outright bullying people is just bs and is literally against subcultures themselves.

Nobody is ruining your own lifestyle over liking aesthetics, you are still definitely in control to tell people that it's not what it is and educate others. Bullying a kid over wearing a bunny hat isn't doing anything useful with your time I swear it isn't.

I get that aesthetics and subcultures are different things, but there is a better way to defend your subculture then outright bullying people because the truth is nobody is better than anyone else. We all are different and we are allowed to like other things because that's what makes all of us, us.

Younger people nowadays may not be the same or as cool as you think they used to be but I will never understand criticizing them so much like it makes 0 sense to me.

I can understand that some of the music however is problematic in the scenecore genre and I'm not defending that, I understand the older music might've been as well and we don't want to repeat that as much as how problematic BOTDF was. And that things were different then because scene wasn't looked at as good.

But to me, I'm still severely judged and bullied in school for dressing the way I want to and my ideas in life and being different, you will be judged for being happy generally. Times may have changed but scene still isn't seen as the norm depending where you live and where I do there is ZERO people in subcultures. I only know like one other scene person and that's it.

Scene will not be forgotten as long as you are vocal about it, scenecore doesn't need to be loved but the people that do like it and call themselves it need to atleast be respected because they are people too. And most of them are really young.

But yeah, that's just what I think about it mostly, I understand there is boundaries in subcultures and what not but being hateful isn't the answer to everything that is different. People are allowed to like what they want, it won't physically hurt you because you aren't them and you guys live totally separate lives. In my opinion people should just focus on themselves.

And just because someone who is scene enjoys some aspects of scenecore, or infact ANY OTHER person in a subculture liking something that has aesthetics doesn't make themselves a poser. I think we forget what being a poser means, a poser is someone who pretends to be something that they aren't, not liking other things outside their own subculture. Styles and music are all different for a reason to explore!!! You don't have to choose just one.

So really, please don't limit yourself as people say that you should because they are just being boring and enjoy what you want.

Because really it doesn't matter to me whoever is a poser, I truly don't care and it doesn't affect my well being.
