First official amateur movie project

I've been working on a movie project with a friend and I decided to journal about the experience.

I started working on it like a week ago, we built our character and their personality, keeping notes on everything, and found various ways to make them "live" before finishing the whole movie project, by creating two of the leads Youtube channels respecting each their own interest.

It will be useful to create the backstory and build their relationships.

After that, we started making the plan for the story line, what story we wanted to tell through this movie. It was easier for me (the one mainly writing everything) to build the story around the characters rather then build characters for the story.

We found our main subject, decided on the format to use, and note every single idea that came to our mind.

Today we rounded up our character, made certain relatively final decisions about them, and started building their online presence, tho we haven't post anything yet. We wanna be ready with a specific wardrobe for each characters before actually posting anything. 

Something I find useful is creating a google doc to keep track of our progress on each task, tho so far there isn't much to keep track off but still, it will be later on.

Also, any tip on editing, filming, sound capture or script writing are welcome!

I've managed to gather a few people interested and willing to act in it and I've worked on the screenplay.

It's my first time writing a screenplay so I'm pretty nervous about how it'll turn out and if it'll be good enough, mostly because some actor participation depends on the script. But I'm pretty confident it will be fun!

I've managed to get to the forth screenplay scene, which is a lot for someone who hates writing and hates writing in french, but hey here we are. It's not like I am willing to write it twice either, first in English and then translate it.

Anyways, I'll keep updating when there's some interesting progress I guess

I've sadly ended up in the hospital for almost the entirerty of July, making it terribly hard to continue the project but after talking with my friend about it we'll simply adjust it to be more doable despite the very short amount of time we have left.

We are trying to rewrite the script for a 10-15 minute long short film, and might change the subject slightly to fit it better, but we do not abandon the project.

Small bumps in the road won't stop it, it's just a part of life.

Today, me and my friend met up again and we used that time to work on the project. We basically finished the timeline of the story, started working on parts of the text for the narration and started a draft for the screen play.

It's much easier and going much faster than with our first idea, and I've got a good feeling about it.

I've also researched some stats and actual resources for some of the heavier subject we'll discuss in the movie, I wanna add a section at the end for it. Might as well do something good you know? Yeah, I feel good about it.

I've had some setbacks this summer, got back to the hospital for three weeks during September and so I didn't have much time to write. Let alone how my friend isn't much help so far.

I'll probably start writing alone to try and get it done. It's my dream after all.
