im tentative to make a group myself since im not really one who is keen on moderating all the time but i could give it a go so long as it's not too insane or anything, but jeah i like music and languages and should try to brush up on my favorite langs this summer and i wonder if anyone else would enjoy this outlet?
i'd prob skew towards translating Vietnamese and Spanish songs into English, just personally--not the other way around at the moment, maybe at some point--i also think prioritizing songs without other available translations over the internet would be cool
i wanted to do "is it cold in the water" by Sophie into Spanish but Genius already has a translation for that so i'll prob find a T&K song to put into English
idk i think this idea would be very cool and swag . i know it's been tried before but it can be hard to get ur groups well-known and feel like u're doing anything meaningful so i wonder if people would look forward to a group such as this ?
anyone have any recommendations or further thoughts ? tips ? meow miao meo

I've considered doing something similar, but just posting my translations directly onto my blog instead. maybe a group could involve the promotion of our own translations so that people can just search for what they're into?
at this point I'd really only be able to do japanese-english, with .... varying accuracy, but I think there are valuable contributions to be made, especially in under-represented songs/languages.

i think maybe some songs from turkish into english would be popular, like yuce dag basinda by altin gun which yk idk if it already has a translation but its just an example, ik theres a lot of turkish people on site at least. but this is super interesting!! i would join but idk how good id be at translating myself...
Oooo I’ll need to check those out :0 I’ll need to find more of the Turks on this site, I’ve encountered a couple so far hurray ! And yea I’m nervous about my own translation skills xddd im hoping people can be good at corrections

that and italian and russian for sure which ive seen both on site. and polish. maybe icelandic if lucky... some sigur ros songs have choppy translations HELP
but id kill for english translations of one of my favorite bands... basque band berri txarrak... WOULD KILL
