Welcome back to Dino Files! Todays entry is the Abdarainurus
˚˖˚ ༘ .⋆𖦹 🦕⋆。˚˖✧˚. Â
Origins:
The Abdarainurus, name meaning "Abdrant Nuru tail", has only one species; A. barsboldi. It's fossils were discovered in Abdrant Nuru, Mongolia, in 1970 and wouldn't be named until the year 2020. Currently the only known fossils for this species are several vertebrae from it's tail.Â
Classification and Morphology:
This specimen has some debate over where it fits on the phylogenic tree- but most seem to agree it was some sort of titanosaur, which are a group of massive sauropods. That being said, Abdarainurus was large, but we aren't sure HOW large.Â
