cold/tiger (old poem)

In the dark every hour

I wake again

Expell these foreign substances

Until I am empty inside

Face dull and desolate

A crest like a thousand weeds branch around

Let my future breath won't you?

Diaphragm totally liberated but

It's getting cold in here

I'll sleep again,

and again

and again

I will look for my reflection's name if it makes this feel any better

Unhinged girls cheer everywhere!

When you became a tiger!

Fire in your icy eyes!

But we can't have nice things they shunned you, they forbid you

They pointed at you

And now this mirror is broken

The girl on the other end should be dead

This glass, Danish fingers

Not double sided

A tiger wandering in social forest

A queen of darkness

The obsessors exclaim:

"Obsession! Obsession!"

I cannot forget you. It's true.

If this diplomat will call your name for me

Upon that LED landline

Maybe then this flock will not be afraid of

Big cats like you

And clock hand runs so many laps

Waiting for that sacred reply

Acknowledgement a peep of yes!

This cold cancels plans

Cold chain to this bed

Body weak and quivering

These crevices not fully filled by time's rain

Hidden under sweet astroturf

Weed carpets lacerate this dirt

A diving bird cortex dips her head into our mirror again

What would you do?

I do what you do here

This is the spoken word.
