Why do I get videos of people buying vegetables that look like plastic? I don't live there so I don't know what's going on but I always get tiktoks of people complaining about vegetables or fruits that look like they are made of rubber. they really look like vegetables that were sold before they were ripe but I have no idea. does anyone have the context?
a lot of times these foods are indeed, not ripe yet. they're intended to be eaten or used later, which is why unripe fruits i.e. bananas are sold in stores. ppl are just kind of odd and can't recognize unripe food as anything but "fake plastic food" it could also just be the shiny coating on foods like apples but idk
I've seen it around different videos and posts elsewhere. I don't know exactly what's going on since I don't think a full investigation has started, but worst case scenario is that the gov't is testing a way to increase shelf life/durability of food and testing it on an unwitting population.
But that's the worst case. We need verification of what's going on still, so keep your eyes peeled for news.
