childhood games/ nostalgia

I recently watched Internet Pitstop's newest video (Thank you Dragonball) and it got me thinking about the things that have impacted me and the things that I wish I experienced then. 

Things like Yu-Gi-Oh, even if it feels like I've known it all my life, I've been into it for like 2 years now. The only reason it probably feels like that to me is because I watched the OG anime and have played/collected the gameboy advance games. But that doesn't mean I'm not less of a fan. Sure I don't play the card game as much as people might think but it's the characters and the monsters that bring me in. A little corny but the whole friendship thing/ moral of the story stuck with me when I fished all 224 episodes. I think I might've cried? But it was so long ago I don't remember. I just remember feeling goosebumps as Atem walked into the spirit realm as he held a thumbs up to Yugi as that final goodbye. 

Now sure the other, later iterations of Yu-Gi-Oh are great too. Yu-Gi-Oh GX changed the game for me(as in theme and characters) and 5Ds (no words for that, its like the Twilight Princess of Yu-Gi-Oh for me tbh). Those have also impacted me but nothing beats the OG. Most if not all of my collection is Yu-Gi-Oh, DVDs, figures and all. 

But regardless of when I started liking something, like I said, it has a place in my heart forever. Like Twilight Princess and Majora's Mask. Those two games were the first Zelda games that I've played through and watched playthroughs and it was the best experience in gaming that I ever had. The atmosphere, characters, story and just EVERTHING was everything to me when I was younger. Twilight Princess is definitely my favorite out of the two because of how big the world is (and the fact you can turn into a wolf) was so cool to me. I remember coming home from school and just running around and doing the dungeons. I remember the desert dungeon and the bone monster boss and the ghost boss with that giant sick ass Cloud Strife sword. Just that game and Majora's mask. PEAK ヽ(´Д｀ヽミノ´Д｀)ノ

I'm so glad that I was able to experience these things because there is no way I could be the person I am with out them. THEY ARE EVERYTHING TO MEEEE!!!!!! And of course there are waaaayyy more games and pieces of media that have impacted me in more way that one but that would make this way too long just if you haven't played Twilight Princess GO PLAY IT!!!!
