started a creature design today

ok first I was watching coryxkenshin play aka manto and this is the thing that chases you in game

I'm a big big fan of these kinda soft looking and smiling almost theater (?) masks in horror creature designs so that's what I started off with

there r also centipedes that can give you damage in that game so I wanted to go for that kinda look, but it turned into a more spine look for some reason, so I started to connect them w smth nervous system inspired to match the theme

since I gave the mask/head black teeth I wanted to make it a geisha face, since black teeth used to be a symbol of status, often worn by geishas

then I wanted to improve the silhouette and give it a weapon, settling for this old japanese kind of weapon since geishas r japanese (might change this tho)

 then a bit later I fleshed out the design and this is the current state

I ended up adding more detail to the spine segments, hip bones and lungs

one part of geisha training is singing, and the concept of this dare I say freakish looking thing luring people in with a soft, beautiful voice siren style is pretty cool to me

I'll def keep adding to this design and think about it more but yah that's it for now:3
