How to write an antagonist

So, disclaimer: I am NOT A professional! There are tons of more helpful resources to help you out. I advise you look at more resources and not rely on this one. Research is KEY!

————————————————————★♥︎★ ————————————————————

First, Why Are They an Antagonist?

A backstory is necessary, it relates and shows what their goal is.

Second, What’s their goal?

Maybe they were neglected as a child and only wants attention as a villain, only wanted acceptance, but was never given that. So, they believed that humanity is scum and should die with the rest of them.

This process is called, adapting their emotional problems into their goals.

You can look at their backstory, add an effect on the character in which they vent their emotions through their actions.

That’s kind of all I have now, but until we meet again!
