It’s not just about two cannibals. It was about love, and every disgusting aspect to it. When they had nothing left to give, they gave their bodies. They weren’t driven by lust, but by the sole purpose of loving one. Another consumption. Bones and all. I think it’s a metaphor for obsessive love and all the disgusting things that come with it. Truly loving someone with everything in you. Bones and all! It represents how humans CRAVE love and affection, and when they get that mutually, it eventually ends with someone sacrificing their everything for the one they love in one way or another.
During my first watch I had knew something had changed in me. It became so clear I would forever yearn for a love so necessary that it could warrant that ultimate sacrifice. 🧡
