It was October. Evenings had gradually turned darker and longer. I was cycling home from classes, shivering in the freezing air - poorly dressed as I was, having not expected the sudden turn of temperature.
After I returned home and to my room, for some reason I thought about listening to the Smiths. I had heard about them before and was a little curious, but mind you, I am mostly a classical music listener and never thought I would find any other type of music interesting enough for me to like. I am uncertain why I decided to do so at that moment, but I'm glad I did as it made the experience better and more memorable. I chose to listen to 'Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now' as it was one of the most popular ones. I was captivated as soon as the intro started playing and even more so when Morrissey started singing. I just went "Oooooh…". I had never heard anything like that before. "This is perfect", I thought. Indeed, it must be the most beautiful music I've ever heard after classical. It was such a dreamy experience, along with the music video of Morrissey passionately dancing on stage lit in purple and blue colour, with a flower bush on his back pocket while balloons were being swept around.
Well that was many months back now, but let's just say that I absolutely admire this. Since then, I have taken a liking to the Cure band as well and I have been looking more at music from those times. But I am rather picky it seems, it is still very hard to find ones I would really like.
So, I like rock music now...
