Sandwichception -- are Inception jokes still funny?

Hello all, I'm writing this one at the request of my alleged wife, who I finally showed my profile after tinkering with it for a few days. She likes it! Regardless, today was pretty eventful (and swelteringly hot!) so I can squeeze a few stories out of the past 24 hours if I wanted to.

This story technically goes back a few days. I live in Illinois, close by Chicago and whatnot, and go around northern/central Illinois overall for work. It's an internship so its helpful experience for my resumé and also useful info that'll surely help with my degree-chasing adventures in college (would y'all like some college stories?). Now, my clients are usually in pretty small towns, but a client a few days back wasn't in any small town...

...they were from Sandwich.

So it was settled, then. I need to buy a sandwich from Sandwich. I explain my plan to the so called "human" who urged me to make this post and she found the idea hilarious. Unfortunately, I only found a Subway while I was there, and I wasn't gonna settle for that junk. Today, though, I had a different client in Sandwich so felt compelled to make this happen one way or another. After my shift ended, I went to a nearby tiny little café and told the barista about my little plan. She recommended an equally small café further down the road that locals absolutely adored. Thanking her, I hopped back in my car, drove to this holy grail restaurant she spoke of and...

DAMN.

DAMN.

For only $11, I got this delicious beef melt with a side of potatoes covered in rosemary and other spices and a drink of my choosing (I chose water, it was hot out lol). The vibes inside this building were absolutely lovely, small and rustic but you could tell that there was a lot of love and time put into making this little spot worthy of its praise in the area. The sandwich was amazing and I ended up with a plate with nought but crumbs and a napkin on it before I knew it. And those potatoes, man! Shit had me thinking the paper cut I got at work killed me and sent me to heaven. To top it all off, there was a big round table full of geriatric dudes who must've known each other for years sitting next to me, which (for the uninitiated) is an undeniable sign that you're about to eat some of the best food on the planet. The hospitality was next level too, as the waiter was incredibly kind and gave some great recommendations for someone who was new to town.

Overall, this was a wonderful experience and I would want nothing more than to return to this location to see what more their menu has in store for me. I urge everyone within central IL to check out Star 34 Café and bring a few friends with you if you do. With every tasty bite of perfectly tender beef and gooey (in a good way!) cheese, the most overpowering taste of all was that of success, as I had completed my mission of eating a sandwich in Sandwich.
