Flux, and The Wishing Well.

I stumbled across a peculiar sub-reddit early this morning. Titled something like pupilsofthepainter. I took a screencap of a post from a hopelessly confused user when I found it.

in it, you can see the description of the sub, which states that it is meant for discussion about "The Wishing Well" with no further explanation.

Now, from what I could tell at that time, this was something from my reality leaking into yours. This specific user from your reality must have stumbled across the sub and found what he thought to be the ramblings of paranoid schizophrenics. I wanted to dig a little deeper into what exactly this was, but when I tried to find the sub, every single search I made turned up blank. 

Even searches for the user who made this post - 772_metreslong - yielded absolutely no results.

I took it a step further and used just about every search engine I could to try and find some information about this wishing well, but every single time, the only thing that turned up was a film released in 2009.

With the web turning up blank, I swung by an old dusty bar about an hour away from my apartment, way down in Node 4. "Beneath the Barrel." For whatever reason, the bartenders there seem to know just about everything going on in every little corner of the world.

They can't make drinks for shit, but they can at least serve information.

Odji, The bartender on duty, happened to know a thing or two.

To preface, when The Rift opened, it connected our reality here on Earth with two other worlds; Xzeria and Prosathir. Parts of each world were scrambled and merged with each other, entire cities ended up waking up in a completely different world.

With this, there were also various stationary portals that appeared around the worlds. They would suddenly manifest at a location and remain there for a random period of time before closing and repositioning.

I believe the natural flow of the portals from world to world is Earth > Xzeria > Prosathir. So if you walked through a rift on Earth, you could expect to end up in Xzeria. Walk through one in Xzeria, and you can expect to end up in Prosathir. Prosathir will usually lead you back to Earth.

Odji explained to me that there have been rumors of people trekking through portals and ending up at a location that is not any of these three worlds. Apparently accounts state that in the center of this 4th world lies a well. Apparently, those who claim to have been there state that the well grants the wish of anyone who throws themself into it.

I took my leave after Odji told me this.

When I returned home, I decided I would look one more time for that sub. Imagine my surprise when both the sub-reddit and the post I had found this morning suddenly decided it existed.

It seems as though this anomaly in the web experiences fluctuations at indeterminate invertals, similarly to the locations of the portals in my world. Whenever they occur, certain spaces of the internet may become inaccessible from a certain reality. Accounts may vanish off the face of the web, just for them to be back several hours later.  If you ever see 'odd' accounts or websites suddenly go off the radar, only for them to return at a later time, I believe you can chalk the blame up to this anomaly.
