Dear Diary, My Teen Angst has a Body Count

Possibly one of my favorite albums released to this day. From First to Last did such a number on me with this album, I don't think I'll ever recover. 

A POST-HARDCORE STAPLE!!!!

Here's a mini review... 

TRACK 01: Soliloquy

- I'm such a sucker for intro songs i'm ngl >.>... Just love the way they tie the album together. 

TRACK 02: The One Armed Boxer vs. the Flying Guillotine

- "Inspiration isn't cheap these days, You better make them earn it!"

FUUUUUUUUCK. In love with this song. It really does speak volumes and it honestly suks bands rnt like this anymore. The ENERGY, literally LYRICS showing that they're working their asses off to make the listeners inspired !!! sm love...

... The transition from this to Note to Self is so cool too omg...

TRACK 03: Note to Self 

- "Note to self: I miss you terribly. This is what we call a tragedy... Come back to me (back to me, to me).

On a close listen to this song it rlly just resonates with me... yk?? Time IS moving faster than I can. Such an insane song abt growing up n changing n figuring out who u want 2 be. POWERFUL EVEN!!! 

- "I feel so close, and yet, I am so far"

TRACK 04: I Liked You Better Before You Were Naked On the Internet

- Kinda different sound and tempo from the rest of the album, but i luvvv it sm. Got me thru my 1st heartbreak lmao as lowkey embarrassing as that is. 

TRACK 05: Featuring Some of Your Favorite Words

UGH!!!! SUCH GOOD GUITAR RIFFS N the drummer is fkn crazy (IN A GOOD WAY!!!). 

"Words don't seem to come so easy When I need them, oh, so badly"

TRACK 06: EMILY. 

Words will never describe how much this song means to me. Literally fell in luv on the first listen. Its just, such a beautiful song about love and yearning. Beautiful sound and Yes its different from the rest too but Its so gorgeous. We all need our own Emilys and to feel like her. She's the ideal partner and BEING... imagine being so loved and needed they write this song thats just so emotionally raw.., still in awe everytime I hear it. 

"There's no one in the world like Emily"

TRACK 07: Secrets Don't Make Friends

A pretty self explanatory song. But its still so relatable 20 years later. 

- "Your words are deadly weapons, scatter my brains across the wall".

Another banger and sick guitar riff. Vocals are so crazy too. 

TRACK 08: Populace in Two

The first time I listened to it I giggled bc of the "Even if I spend 2004 listening to Morrissey in my car"... then i grew up nd realized its so real LOL

This is such a beautiful song. Heartache and break. 

"I'm better off alone than I would be in your arms"

MAKES ME SICK TO MY STOMACH UGH i love it so much. An insane goodbye song that I wish I had it in me to relate to (I'm a hopeless romantic, but maybe one day)

TRACK 09: Kiss Me, I'm Contagious

Just the title is enough to know its a good song... 

- Its, truthfully, not my favorite. But its still iconic. 

TRACK 10: Minuet

doesn't need lyrics to be a masterpiece of a song. I hold it dear to my heart (I would fall asleep to it everyday when I wus going thru it)

TRACK 11: Ride The Wings Of Pestilence 

INSANE FINAL (kinda) TRACK. Closes this album up in a nice little box with a bowtie on it..

Another one of my favorites from this album. Violent... but still so fkn good.

ICONIC LYRIC!!!! 

ugh when i showed my friend this track he didn't like it and I still don't get it. 

This album means the world to me. I love it so much, and I'll never stop recommending it to my friends 

(TRACK 12: UNTITLED HIDDEN TRACK)

... The actual perfect ending track. Both r incredible but god this one just hits so differently. Five minutes of pure bliss. 

i want a cd of this album so bad. 

I'm gonna try to write album reviews at least once a week. But i'll probably forget. Maybe just entries though.
