Megascream ; why this ship is icky for me.

( plz note that this is MY opinion, nothing here I’m trying to push onto others or persuade others into believing this as fact. I’d also advise if you ARE a Megascream shipper, do not interact with me or my content.. )

Megascream, also known as Startron, is a very popular ship in the Transformers franchise and can be shipped by either newer fans or diehard veterans. I believe this ship is horribly executed even in ‘ cute ‘ scenarios and would never work in canon. Now, I know that ships aren’t supposed to exist in canon and are almost always used out of the canon universe but this doesn’t excuse the way it’s often portrayed. Megascream is shown as unhealthy often and this representation of the ship is the generally accepted dynamic they have. I see Megascream portrayed in incredibly unhealthy ways and situations ( many I will not list here ) such as one sided pining that is unhealthy, obsessive tendencies that make  either one of them incredibly uncomfortable, and even abuse.. however, my distaste for this ship doesn’t just come from fanon works it comes from the LITERAL FACT that they both want to MURDER EACH OTHER and not even in a ‘ haha funny ‘ way or in a ‘ I’ll kill you because I can’t deal with the fact I love you ‘ it’s in a ‘ I’m literally gonna kill this fucking bastard, but I keep him around because I need him for my evil deeds ‘ ON BOTH ENDS. I cannot stress this enough, the way people mischaracterize and bend their dynamic to become some A / B / O exploit for smutty or suggestive fics and comics is enough for me to hate this ship. Other factors only pushed me to have a hatred for this ship even more !! I don’t even like the ironic crackfics of them ! Which is saying a lot because I love crack ships in Transformers but this ship gives me split ends the moment I see anything of it !! The last point I wanted to make was the abundance of suggestive content of them, which as I stated earlier, just seems like an omegaverse exploit for some extra smutfics.. overall, if you enjoy Megascream, go ahead and live your life I can’t stop you. However, I have a personal hate for this ship.
