Hey SpaceSleepers (8): Out All Night or Night out all

  I kind of got bummed out when my
friend dropped the r slur as a
joke. I do get that a lot of people
would tell me "oh well you're an 
adult it shouldn't bother you" but
being an adult now doesn't decrease
my discomfort with hearing the word,
especially after hearing it thrown
around a lot towards me or close to
me. I understand if people believe 
that is weak-willed in a way but
like it's always used in a negative
context, it is just not reclaimable,
it's constantly utilized against
autistic people while being an
intended slight against the 
intellectually disabled, which I 
also have people in my family who
are anyways. I never found the word
funny or cool or whatever. It just
so endlessly urks me to hear it and
I know that people would just tell me
to grow thicker skin but I am literally
autistic and have family whom that 
insult is genuinely intended for. I
don't know what you expect. (06/14/2024)
