Skinamarink (2022) - def deserves its reputation

I just finished the movie Skinamarink! I was waiting for 2 years to watch this movie since it has become famous on the web for being "the scariest movie ever" or stuff like that, but, honestly, I didn´t think this movie would f**k me up as much as it really did.

First of all, I understand why a lot of people hate this movie. It is slow (really slow), experimental, confusing, and very psychological, and that´s not for everyone, but it sure is for me because I found this movie absolutely genius!! Skinamarink is very unique; some may see it as pretentious, but I really think it´s innovative. As a horror movie lover, I can tell you I never watched a movie like this; it really reminds me of internet/analog horror, and I LOVE THAT.

Anyways, as a movie lover, I feel like this movie could do much better; it is very monotonous, and you have to be very patient to appreciate it, but, as a horror lover, I love this! I never felt so scared and desperate watching a movie as I felt in the ending scenes of Skinamarink. I am not kidding when I say I literally screamed and cried out of fear, even though I´m pretty used to scary stuff!!

It is worth a watch if you are patient and love slow horror, very subjective, and supernatural stuff. Definitely a solid 8/10!! (But I´d never subject myself to this psychological torment again.)

I remember when this came out and it being hyped up a lot in the analog horror community but unfortunately I don’t have access to Shudder so I’ve had it on my watchlist for ages. It seems like one of those films u really have to be immersed in to enjoy, lights off and all
