It was the year 2001, the month of February. A blonde bundle of joy was delivered to two of the most undeserving people, sitting in the hotel room with the door locked, and the security pounding on the door. It wasn't long before they made their way into the room and found the plump blonde woman reclined on the bed in nothing but a t-shirt, with the brown haired man next to her cradling a baby still covered in afterbirth. Evelyn Gray, they had decided before she was even born.
The air was still between the two as the men ushered their way further into the room with flashlights and radios strapped to their shoulders. There was three of them, all wearing security uniform and had batons at their sides. One of them was obviously older than the other two, and he took front charge into the red, dusty old room. The light from the hallway reflected into the small space, with it only being lit by one dim lamp and the security officers flashlight. The couple didn't want to be revealed to the public, though they weren't exactly planning on birthing a child here, either.
"Something's wrong" The woman yelled out as she grabbed her stomach, the security standing there dumbfounded at the scene placed before them. One of them reached for his radio and begun to speak into it, calling for an medic. "It's going to be okay, ma'am. A doctor is coming" he said towards her as he finished. They rushed to her side and spoke in a comforting tone. One of the men in uniforms reached out for the child from the man, who pulled his arms, and the child, away.
The blonde woman started screaming and security had to speak over to be heard. "Sir, we need to take her to the medics. We're trying to help you." and the bigger dishelved father replied by fervently shaking his head. "No. You're going to take her away from us." The younger security officer eye'd the man up with a weary look before his vision took in the woman before him. She seemed to be in a lot of pain, and she was sweating. The t-shirt she was wearing was ratty and had a lot of holes in it, and the bed was stained with blood.
"We won't, sir. Your wife needs help." The older security officer began, but the man holding the baby cut him off. "She's not my wife! If you take my child from me, we'll never see her again! I know it! You're going to try to get her taken away from us." He screamed, and one of the officers turned to face the other while stiffening his posture. "Sir–"
"I feel like I need to push again!" The blonde woman screamed out as she clutched the bedsheets. "What? What do you mean? What's happening to her??" The man shouted "Do something!" He snarled, but there was nothing to be done. The man angrily decided that he needed to hand the child over. He nodded toward the officer before passing the bare child whom was wrapped in a towel, cooing.
"I swear to god, if you do anything to keep my child from me.." he growled out as he rushed back to his partner's side. As the medics arrived, they all watched as Alexandria Gray was birthed into the world unexpectedly, to her parents and her older-by-a-few-minutes sister, into a cold and unsertile hotel room. In fact, it was very dingey and run down. It was one of the rooms that was supposed to be locked away from the public, set away for renovations. For just a short period of her life, hotels were an important part of Alexandria's existence.
