i feel like if i ask anyone at all this question, even the most addicted-to-social-media person i know, all i can get is negative responses, like the fact that it's addictive and has the potential to destroy someone's self-esteem if not used safely. this makes me genuinely curious if anyone at all thinks there's some positive side to social media?? cause at least in my opinion, it's genuinely the easiest way to connect to people and find friends that humanity has ever seen so far... thoughts?

Social Media allows for the spread of information to be in the hands of the common individual, making it way harder for governments and those in power to spread propaganda. Also, social media is practically the only reasonable way to celebrate love for a lot of digital media; You most likely won't find a Genshin Impact or Undertale fan club in your neighborhood or city, but you might find a discord server like that. It allows for the sharing of viewpoints from those way farther than you, and it's also one of the best ways for creative expression :) At least in my opinion
