on writing fanfiction

OKAY SO

I want to make fanfiction of this specific ship that comes from a LIVE ACTION series. I wanted to dig for some ideas but ended up realizing i might as well make a ff on the real actors (in a universe where they fell in love off-character) and i'm in a moral dilemma being unsure if that would be fine or not. I mean, it's not about the characters anymore but my own headcannon surrounding REAL PEOPLE with real relationships. But tbh i'm not as inspired to write about the actual ship as i am in this. so i'll read yall

To be fair, RPF is a very common thing in fanfiction. Whether you think that’s weird or not is up to you personally, I guess ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ It still can be controversial but, I mean, lots of writers do it so...
You mentioned you writing the people with your headcanons so depending on what they are, they could be different enough from the real people. Though, I don’t think it really matters if you’re still gonna use their real names and such :P Honestly, if you wanna do it, just go for it, unless the people themselves were like “I explicitly do not want fanfic written with me in it” or something
