Sylvirginia
Smash –
Fist through glass
Her bell jar keeps
everything contained
until it shatters as she
succumbs to carbon fumes.
Twisted and thorny,
in the reign of twigs
her graveyard blooms.
Flint rocks fill
housecoat pockets
stalag-tight
barbed-wire stings
sink into Gulag grey
tombstone smatterings
smearing the herenow,
Those Lady Lazarus lips
calling for Daddy, their
black winged taunts
a mad girl’s song
a cackle in the throat of Night
there where she was caught
ugly, tight, and choking
on her own bones…
