Appetite

The flavors blend and melt on my tongue

The cake was so beautiful,

Yet it tastes of despair, the frosting made of disappointment.

The coffee smells warm and welcoming,

I take a sip and cringe.

It tastes of hatred.

But my dear I shall continue to eat.

I’m full,

Yet I still eat.

I would rather eat than displease you my love.

You smile,

That wonderful smile.

The one that makes my heart flutter.

So I’ll continue to eat,

Eat until I burst.

Just to see you happy,

To see you smile.

I’ll eat and eat to keep you around.

Because when you leave I’m just a shell of the person I used to be.

Even though I’ve had enough I still demand.

Give me more.

I don’t care how unhealthy it is

There isn’t anything I’d rather see

Then you smile.
