gfdi who even am i??

☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

i'm often stuck with that question whenever im asked to create something (like designing the spacehey profile) that can portray who tf i am. how could i possibly stick to one aesthetic?? i like grunge/punk but i also like fuckin kidcore! i adore dark gemstone colours like old forests or classical libraries but i also like bright and shiny, pink or pastels with glitter? i absolutely adore the 90s/2000s online styles but that itself contains a billion different aesthetics, many of which i also like, and yeah, i do like the old 80s arcade aesthetics too.

How can I possibly choose just one to represent me? Or just one to base my personhood on? It depends on the DAY whether I like one kind of aesthetic or another... I guess I'm venting a little but also wondering if others feel similar?

Do yall struggle to find one kind of aesthetic to adhere to? Do you have to choose just one and stick to keeping it in theme or is does it just come naturally? i won't ask if im crazy though cos i already have doctors who have answered that for me <3

This is why I don't bother with "aesthetics" anymore. It gets way too mentally tiring for me to feel like I have to stick to one label that's based solely on visuals when there's too much stuff that I like and too much of that stuff gets incredibly specific at times. Not to mention the fact that people naturally keep changing and exploring different ways of expression and I think worrying too much about strict aesthetics is only going to stunt creative growth. I like what I like, and if that means picking and choosing and mashing together things from a billion other "aesthetics" based on how I feel any given day then so be it.
