do parents take away their adult kids' phones as a form of punishment?

Have you ever heard of negative punishment? It's essentially when someone takes something away from you in order to decrease that behavior.

Well guess who decided to do that even though they basically haven't done that since I was in high school?

My female identifying parental figure. Otherwise known as mother.

She has taken away my phone but not other technology idk why the fuck she has this idea in her mind about taking my phone away. it's my personal property. it's not something a parent should do to their ADULT CHILD. like bruh. She has done this because I have not taken the laundry downstairs. But I also worked for 7 hours today and I've increased my hours at work AND I'm doing summer school and have assignments due every three days. It's exhausting and yet she fails to recognize this and sees it all as excuses.

I can't wait to NOT live at home.

She told me tonight "I don't care how much pain your in from work", "you need to take the laundry downstairs now".

Thank you for your absolutely fantastic parenting. I know your trying your best, but this is not your best and you can do better.

Sincerely,

Lady Bird.

PERIODT love how she took it away after a 7 hour shift too lolz. And also at the end of the night I told her "love you" even though she did take my phone away because I know she's trying to teach me things and respect her as a person and see she is trying to teach consequences but doesn't know how to do it in the right way - enough to not be horribly upset, but after that she went silent and said "I'm not going to say that" to me. Everything is fine now though - she's not mad at me anymore because I took the laundry downstairs :)
