BPS MEMBERS

They all have different responses to fear. Jonah and Sarah run, Evelyn freezes, Adam fights.

Jonah has a hairless cat named Sam, but he is a dog person.

Adam dislikes cats, but he has no clue why. He just doesn’t like them. (1)

Sarah and Evelyn have very similar music tastes, but Evelyn prefers more goth music while Sarah likes pop.

Adam isn’t allowed near mirrors anymore, since he hates his reflection and has broken multiple mirrors.

Sarah has had a lot of close encounters with alternates. (2) like, really close.

Sarah started the BPS because of her brother, Mark. She hopes to somehow avenge him.

Adam has cold hands all the time. (3)

Sarah is in Chorus, and Jonah plays the Guitar. Adam is trying to learn the drums.

Adam often notices things other people don’t. He has freakishly good night vision, and can hear a pin drop even if someone is talking. (4)

Everybody suspects Adam of being autistic. Including himself. (5)

Jonah can’t handle horror games. Like, at all.

Sarah is deathly afraid of alternates after her many encounters, which is part of the reason she never go to houses with Jonah and Adam anymore.

Adam likes horror movies, and isn’t scared by them. He won’t watch human centipede though.

Jonah used to be an urban explorer before becoming a ghost hunter.

The gang has seen multiple dead bodies in their time of being ghost hunters.

Adam’s pupils don’t expand or contract as much as they should. (6)

ALTERNATES

Cats can detect the presence of an alternate, (1) and may hiss at them or even attack them. On a definitely unrelated note, Ceaser’s cat didn’t die of natural causes, but the cameras in the house were off when he died so nobody knows what happened.

If you were to directly accuse an alternate of being an alternate, they will avoid you. Or just follow you home and deal with you as soon as possible. Depends on how lucky you get.

Tulpas and flawed Dopplegangers are INCREDIBLY cold to the touch if they aren’t disguised. (3) Not that anyone would have the opportunity to figure this out… right? (2)

Making eye contact with an alternate while they aren’t disguising can make you sick, dizzy, and even make you pass out.

Alternates can feel pain, but can’t die and heal very quickly.

Alternates have a hive mind. If one alternate knows where you are (no matter the type) every alternate could know where you are.

Tulpas are the strongest physically, (excluding ‘Unknowable’/Fakeriel) and doppelgängers are the fastest. Mimics can’t really move at all.

They refer to Alt!Gabe/Fakeriel/Lucifer as ‘Gabriel.’

Similar to the last one, alternates will refer to other alternates as the name of their current disguise.

Alternates are bad with sarcasm sometimes, which is why sometimes alternates can be mistaken for autistic people and vice verca (5)

Dopplegängers always have one permanent flaw, but it’s usually pretty small and easy to hide. (Slightly sharp teeth, weird pupils, no visible blood vessels on the wrist, extra teeth, hair/nails that don’t grow/grows slower than normal, moles/birthmarks/scars/freckles in the wrong places, etc) (6)

Alternates have incredibly good hearing and vision, and can even hear your heartbeat and breathing through walls! (4)

Most ‘ghost encounters’ in Mandela County are actually just 6/Intruder fucking with electronics.

Some alternates can turn their heads like owls.

Alternates can walk on walls and even the ceiling- they usually don’t, though.

Even if an alternate isn’t being aggressive and is just watching, it’s still recommended that you get the hell out of there as fast as possible ESPECIALLY if it’s following you around or staring at you.

If a person survives an alternate encounter and doesn’t die of M.A.D.-influenced suicide or overdose, the alternate will find them and either continue tormenting them until they commit or just choke them to death. (Only if they are alone though.) (7)

Alternates will only target someone if they are alone in their house. If someone returns to the house, the alternate will leave. 

Mandela County Police Department 

Thatcher is allergic to dogs. This does not stop him from petting every dog he sees.

Ruth drinks so much coffee that she has developed a complete immunity to caffeine.

Even after a victim of an encounter is pronounced dead, the police have to wait at least 2 days to actually go to the house to ensure that the alternate isn’t still there. It’s still there sometimes.

Thatcher pretty much adopted Adam after…… all that happened.

Thatcher is somewhere between being absolutely terrified of alternates and being willing to fist-fight one.

MISCELLANEOUS 

Every recorded death of someone who had M.A.D. was either from suicide, overdose, or asphyxiation. (7)

There are pills for M.A.D. They don’t get rid of the hallucinations completely, but they help.

There is not a single person in Mandela County who doesn’t have severe paranoia.
