i become aware of the sprawling passage of time laid out around me
it aches within me like a throbbing bruise
blooming on the surface
summer whizzed by like a dragonfly
barely even a blur past my eyes,
then the leaves fell around me in cascades
and now the frost melts, and it threatens to never come back again
and i remember the chill of your hands against mine
and i remember every word that's been said to me,
and i hold love so heavy in my heart,
everywhere i go.
