Yard Sales
Wander and imagine the history of each item. Cream and sugar jars, plastic toys and movies you’ve never heard of. Now they sit on a tables made of plywood and folding chairs, wiped of the dust they had once collected; to be walked past and never given a second thought. But you can give them that decency.

The Back of Leaves
Bugs hide behind them, parasites and spiders. Discoloured splotches of disease make pretty patterns. Remember the ask the tree permission before you touch it. They are often insecure and don’t not want you to look.

Your basement
This one is a dangerous place. For it’s not only inspiration that is caught is the cobwebs, but cowardly memories that wait to lash out. Your dead dad’s watch. Your aunt’s lock of hair. An old bike and power tools. You can make so much with what you’d rather keep locked away.

An Old Purse you forgot about
You were once that person you know? You put those pins there, took it everywhere and never put it down. It traveled with you to coffee shops, airports, malls, movie theatres. Your friends couldn’t imagine you without it. And now you’re 20 and you’ve found it in the back of your closet. It still has five dollars and a receipt for boba.
