My soapmaking recipe, for future reference.

This is my soapmaking recipe, which I post here for everyone who might use it and for myself, because I know I will end up losing it again and having to experiment with proportions once more to get it right. It has happened two times so far.

This recipe creates eight to twelve bars of soap, and according to my calculations (which are probably going to become useless very soon due to uncontrolled inflation) it costs about 1.2€ or $1.5 to produce each bar. It makes great soap!

My advice for all future soapmakers is: invest in an used crock-pot or similar slow cooker, to make hot-process soap. It is so much better to make and use soap within two days than to wait a month or longer for it to cure! Bear in mind that smells are tricky to use with hot-process soap. I tend to leave my soap without any added scents, and just enjoy the understated green, leathery smell it naturally has.
