I want to do art commissions but I worry I won't be able to fulfil the desires of the client
Woah that's high praise, thank you!!
And yeah I felt that way at first too, though everyone whose commissioned me has been rather nice, I think what helps is kind of setting down some rules and being a little honest about possible limitations. I make it known in my rules that I'll probably have to simplify some details or that I need photo refs for certain poses.
Of course in the end I'm still new to this so.. this advice might not be that helpful but... still I think everyone should try it out, there's always someone whose a big fan of what you make.
