so i've been listening to the aquabats and i need to talk about it

my power went out recently, so i decided to listen to bands i haven't yet indulged in. i listened to Flood by They Might Be Giants and it was alright, Birdhouse In Your Soul was really good and Instanbul (not Constaninople) is a major earworm, but i was much more interested in the other band i listened to that night; The Aquabats! They are just so dumb and goofy and i fw that vibe so much, plus ska rocks idc who says what this shit is badass. here are my thoughts and ramblings about some of their songs.

the last minute and ten seconds of Karate Body! might actually be the most badass formation of sound i have ever heard and i am dead serious. 

like c'mon if that's not raw as hell i dont know what is. Karate Body! rocks all of my socks off. every last one. love this one.

Super Rad! was the first Aquabats song i listened to and it legit sounds like a finale for the band, y'know what i mean? like, if there was a last Aquabats song, something similar to Super Rad! comes to mind. The Fury Of The Aquabats! has a lot of my favorites in it, and this is definitely one of them.

Awesome Forces! also feels like this, but more so, because it's not the first songs on one of their first albums. i might just need to relisten to it again, but this is really the only song from Charge!! that i really remember enjoying, and even then i don't revisit it much at all. Sorry Charge!! nation, i'm just not into this one (not saying Charge!! is bad or anything btw! i just wasn't really into it.)

Worms Make Dirt, The Baker & Dear Spike

i wanna just mesh these 3 together cause I don't have much to say about them

Worms Make Dirt isn't my favorite by any means, but that one line is the chorus ("Worms make the dirt and the dirt makes the earth") tickles my brain in a good way.

The Baker is also badass, not no where near as much as Karate Body! sadly. i think i only like it as much as i do because i have an oc that's a chef and i imagine a little music video of him whenever i listen to this song. very autistic, i know!

Dear Spike's instrumental sounds like something from Chowder. that's it really. it's probably my favorite song from Myths, Legends and Other Amazing Adventures, Vol. 2.

Skeleton Inside!, Radiation Song, Chemical Bomb, Cat With 2 Heads!

these ones are all good, i especially like Skeleton Inside!, but i need to point out the untapped edgy animation meme potential of these songs. it's probably my rotten 2016 youtube mindset, not to mention these songs are as edgy as a plastic fork, but c'mon! don't tell me you don't see it! i also think it'd be funny if the younger folk saw one like, Chemical Bomb in an animation meme and were like "this sounds cool i wonder if this band has any other songs like this!" and they're just bombarded by men in goofy costumes.

uh yeah, that's it really. i haven't listened to all of their stuff (vs. the Floating Eye Of Death!, Hi-Five Soup!, Yo! Check Out This Ride!) and might check out The Aquabats! Super Show! at some point too. pretty neat band.
