Does anybody have that one Interest that seemed to be super popular at one point in a company's history and then it's kind of just put on the shelf left to dust? I don't know how to describe it, but dead titles, titles that are still relevant enough to be classified as lost media but not relevant enough to get a new game or have a dedicated fanbase. things like: Doko demo issyo, Heathcliff ,Kid Icarus, Parappa the rapper, Star fox, VIB-RIBBON, Guitar hero. It just seems so sad to see how common it is for things to change when it comes to a companies idea of whats a good game, interest is lost and so is the fanbase. Watching masterpieces fade into obscurity breaks my heart.

Even if it's not a franchise, Blockland is a pretty dead game nowadays, it used to be compared with Minecraft and Roblox, but because the game stopped updating, and many other reasons, the game decreased in the amount of active players. There are some people who still plays the game, but it's rare to find them (Based on my experience)

idk if this is obscure enough but the mario & luigi rpg series. theyre very loved by the people who like them but since alphadream went bankrupt it's highly likely we'll never get another one
O I TOTALLY AGREE WITH THIS UGHHH I was a superfan of partners in time. the rpg series was such a fun way to incorporate the bros going on adventure to like appeal to a larger playing style.

I hate how the Guitar Hero franchise has basically become forgotten about these days despite its initial popularity in the mid - late 2000s. Like, you don't really hear about kids talking about it at all these days (except maybe a few oddballs out there who happen to go into an arcade with a Guitar Hero Arcade machine and decide to actually play it).
I will always be a GH3/Arcade girl no matter what year it is, though.<3

go for a punch and punch punch forever pilot (it isn't lost its just the pilot went no where but there's still hope) also Australian kids show pilot Audrey and friends ( there's no hope for this one sadly its cancelled)
also ok soda by Coca Cola it was a huge marketing fail but it is one of my favourite marketing gambits of all time tbh

You can see on my profile that I do love Kid Icarus, but another one I put a lot of focus into is Skylanders, I guess there's probably still some stuff done with that IP (haven't checked in a while), but the main series with the figures has been dead for years now and it's a bit of a shame cause I used to collect them and I have a decent amount, nothing too huge or impressive but I'd still consider it to be a lot. I can definitely see why new figures and main series games stopped being made though, I stopped collecting not long after Supercharged released (I have two figures from that series and nothing else beyond that) because there was just too much to keep up with, with how the games and full series of figures were releasing every single year.
and really, maybe it's better a new Kid Icarus game hasn't been made, cause idk how Uprising could be topped

it's an old mmorpg from cartoon network about aliens invansion, the game got an anime style and low poly graphics it's very pretty but it's not more able to play:(
it got a revival game made by fans some time ago but cartoon sued the devs, so they turned the servers off, it got a lot of videos from the original era and from the revival
it makes me so upset how greedy cooperations can get over a franchise they plan to do nothing with.

helix waltz!!! it was a fantastic fashion game. it still kind of has a fanbase, but the global server for the first game got shut down and the second game only has a CN server. its basically impossible to get into either of the games if you're not in China :(
blarrgg.. that seems so frustrating. Region locked games suck but its understandable unfortunately, some games just do better in different regions, especially now when it comes to trying to archive ONLINE games - club penguin, monkey quest etc. If you don't have anyone to make a remastered open source fan version, getting it back is diffcult..

the non-cn community is pretty small, unfortunately, and it seems like none of us have the know-how required to attempt archival... there are guides on how to get the CN games but they're all like a whole page of steps and some of them might require identity theft? not entirely sure on that part tho

Most games that have Chinese bound servers are in the major regions, (shanghai etc). and since china is a company that's know for having media like other countries, there's most likely alot more modifications to the game to make them suitable for the countries audience. Youd most likely be using some sort of VPN bound emulator to register yourself as someone who is a resident of this region - thus implementing identity theft.
