Back on my Jurassic Park grind

I found a copy of Jurassic Park at a cool book shop and it catapulted me back into a hyperfixation oml. So I finished the book and the watched the movie, and it gave the movie so much more depth. Like I've seen these movies dozens of times already, but reading the book gives a lot of scenes some much needed context, and I think that's really cool. I'm still wondering why they made movie Grant HATE kids so much when he absolutely adored them in the book??? Maybe that was purely for character growth lmao. Also good on them for killing off John Hammond, that motherfucker was plain EVIL in the books.

I've started The Lost World now, but honestly I'm getting impatient. The book is super good but I wanna see the movie already!!! I'm only at page 100 or something? But it's already crazy how different this one is from the movie version. I feel like the first one stayed true to the original story much more, it was just expanded, with more scenes or something. This one already has like a totally different start. Kelly isn't Malcolm's kid, and Sarah Harding isn't as ditzy in the book (which I'm sorry, but I really couldn't stand her character in the movie at times). She's badass and smart, and doesn't run off to an island filled with dinosaurs without Ian knowing, they asked her to come because she's really good at her job. Maybe I'll change my mind, and maybe book Sarah is still going to do some dumb stuff but I'll have to wait and see I guess.

Oh also I think it's so rad we get to hear even a little bit more about Ian's recovery in Costa Rica, the film really skipped over a lot of that. And the fact we get to see the whole investigation where they discover that there is a site B is so interesting, it's a bummer the movie works around it. Oh well, I still love them both dw. Just some interesting differences!
