something that i wanted to voice my opinion on

earlier today i received an email to a community site for my town, and a few others nearby, similar to facebook, that i regularly get updates on for recommended posts and other things. i usually tend to ignore these, since most of the things listed aren't things that i care about too well.

one of these emails that i got was recommending me a post talking about how immigrants can't speak any english at all. i live in florida. a state that was once owned by spain from the 16th century to the 19th century. and yes, this was an old person that made the post.

what truly sickens me is the amount of racism that i see here in this state, mainly towards the latino/carribean population that resides here in florida. i am latino myself, and i have had some people assume that i don't speak any english at all, even from the way that i look. it is very rude, and i wish that these people would be more educated. but these old people aren't gonna change, anyways, since of course, florida is all the way in the southern united states, of course.

i just hate seeing posts like these. it sucks. i wish people could change.
