01// how the universe started out

hey sigmas this is my first entry so hurray!! anyways Im probably gonna do a blog abt space and what I learned - feel free to add some information or correct me, I would really appreciate it :D

the universe started out with the Big Bang around 13.7 billion years ago

there is much more information about the Big Bang and what happened in milliseconds after it, but I'm gonna skip this because I don't find it that important (I'm just lazy)

≈ 380,000 yrs after the Big Bang, the temperature of space cooled down to the point where hydrogen and helium nuclei were able to capture electrons and form atoms.

in the beginning of the universe, nuclei, atoms, and gases were scattered everywhere. It took around a billion years to sort it all out into stars, galaxies, and a while after into asteroids and planets. The universe basically cleaned itself up.

≈ 200 million yrs after the Big Bang, huge clouds made from H and He started to collapse under their own gravity, and formed the first stars. Another 100 million years after this, the first star clusters and galaxies started to form

≈ 450 million yrs after the Big Bang, the first black holes started to form in the middle of quasars

≈ 1 billion yrs after the Big Bang, spiral galaxies started to form (gases circle around galaxies)
