Hello everybody I’m just going to talk about books I like here because I really like booksÂ
Also sorry English is not my first language + I don’t even know how a blog works I think it’s too old for me hahahahha
(I’m going to use a translator because I’m too lazy to think+it’s late)
So I recently read a book (it’s a biography) called L'Adversaire by Emmanuel Carrère. The book's author (Emmanuel Carrère) tells the real story of a man (Jean-Claude Romand) who, for 18 years, lied to everyone around him about his identity, his job, everything. He truly lived in a lie, and under the constant pressure of this lie, he ended up murdering his entire family before attempting suicide. He was so ashamed of himself that he'd rather kill his family than face their judgments and stares.Â
This book is reeeaally good because the author tries to understand what went on in Jean-Claude Romand's head, and in the end we realize that this man is also human, and at the end of the book, we feel torn between our morality, which makes us hate this man for his actions, and our humanity, which makes us feel pity, and almost empathy for this murderer. It really makes you think about how you SHOULD feel and how you ACTUALLY feel about it.
I loved this book soooo much I had to buy the paper version haha (because I usually read on my phone+ if u wanna read books for free on ur phone just send me a message and I’ll explain to u.)
Oh and what’s funny (not really funny, it’s not the perfect word) is that this story happened in the city where I currently live so it’s even more interesting for me
If u like everything that talks about what happens inside of murderer’s head, how they think and feel about what they did etc… or just psychology in general or relationships between individuals, I would definitely recommend this book :D
