Adam Lambert just put out the second single from his upcoming EP "AFTERS"!! "Wet Dream" and "Lube" are definitely not songs intended for heterosexual (or underage) audiences. But I can't say I dislike either, they're both fun to listen too. I personally wish they were a little heavier, but he is meeting the gay EDM music craze where it stands and I respect that. He just performed at WeHo pride and teased an unreleased song called "Cunty", too, so I'm excited to see where this more sexual, unhinged era takes him. Personally I'd love to hear LSDXOXO remix one of these new songs, or produce/collab on something on the album!
Scene Queen just put out a new song called "Whips and Chains" and a while back put out "Stuck" (feat. 6arelyhuman)! Admittedly I'm not a huge fan of either, but I respect her dedication to playing with her sound and not just putting out 1000 identical songs. "Finger" is definitely still my favorite of her past few singles lol. A lot of people need to learn to loosen up and just enjoy her music instead of trying to take it so seriously.
Kris Allen released the second single from his upcoming album "Pole Vaulter" :) "Guinevere" was an amazing way to kick off this album, with a sound that's almost Mother Mother-ish, but softer and poppier— and "Too Good for Too Long" just makes me more excited to hear whatever fascinating little indie pop songs he'll put out next. His songs just have this way of grabbing my heart and making me feel things.
Madison Rose released a very mid-2010s sounding dance song for the summer, called "Paradise". I have nothing huge to say about it, I think you've just gotta give her music a shot and let it speak for itself, because I think she's seriously one of the standout pop artists of our generation. This is a new sound for her but it's still so good.
Marianas Trench has always had a pretty stable sound and "Lightning and Thunder" doesn't disappoint. Parts of it remind me of songs from All Time Low's album "Last Young Renegade"? I'm finding it difficult to describe, but this song also has a very mid-2010s feel to it, which is mostly just on-par for how I feel about most of Marianas Trench's music lol.
Chrissy Chlapecka dropped "10 Boyfriends" and godddd she doesn't know how to put out a flop. And kudos to her for hearing that people want LONGER songs from her and then delivering!! Over 3 whole minutes of 80s-sounding, polyamorous goodness... The writers and producers she's been working with this year are doing her GOOD.
