Pride Month and the Scream Script

Scream, The Original One from 1996…

…may forever be my favorite movie, or maybe I’m just obsessed with it because I’m autistic. I don’t know.

The original script for scream by Kevin Williamson was JUST A BIT more queer, and I’m in love with it.

It’s heavily theorised (and practically confirmed by Williamson, Skeet, and Matthew) that Stu and Billy were lgbt. The original script supports these claims. They literally have a scene together about TEASING each other, are seen touching each other in almost affectionate ways (even in the movie) and die laying together, both killed in the same way.

Originally Stu survives the TV attack which is preformed by Randy instead, ultimately getting shot in the head just like Billy instead.

It’s a shame that in the 90s movies were too scared to add real LGBT representation into their content, but it’s nice to think about Kevin’s original intentions with his story (to make stuilly real). Even if society and Wes Craven didn’t let it happen.

Sorry for blabbing! Happy Pride Month!
