I've only seen the first episode but it is SO GOOD!!!
So, I've been reading the book for a while, but I'm not done, but I still decided to start the TV show after my friend told me about it.
If you've read the book, you probably know that especially for the 70s, the book is kinda gay. Whatever the du Lac and Lestat have going on is kinda wild. But it can't even COMPARE to the TV show.
Like, it is so next level. I guess that's the power of making a TV show in the 2020s, instead of the 2000s. If you're thinking of watching IWTV, or have heard of it, you've probably heard of Hannibal too. IWTV kind of feels similar in vibes to the most insane vampire-au Hannibal fanfic you've ever read. & that's only based off my information from the first episode.
I don't want to spoil the first episode to you guys.... but trust me when I say it is not what you're expecting. It is certainly not what I was expecting.
The filming and the sets I also really admire. A lot of it is set in 1910, and the colours, costumes, and sets all look super interesting to me. It was really nice to see all of them, because they were very well-done in my opinion.
I remember it being popular when its second season came out, but the popularity seems to have waned a bit. I think its because there isn't much fanfic to make out of it... because everything is already there. No fucked-up AU can compare to the crazy source material dudes...
SO anyway! Give it a watch. If you're not convinced by the first episode, maybe it's not for you. But the first episode is very convincing.
