"Foolish Heart"

In love's labyrinth, I wandered too long,

Waiting for you, my heart's sweet song.

But your treatment was a piercing pain,

Leaving scars that will forever remain.

Foolish heart, why did you hold on tight?

Believing in change, a love so bright.

But your indifference was a heavy fog,

Clouding my judgment, numbing my soul.

Your satisfaction in hurting me, a cruel art,

Tore apart my dreams, shredding my heart.

I stayed, hoping for a glimpse of your care,

But like a mirage, it vanished, leaving despair.

Foolish me, for thinking you'd see my worth,

For loving through the hurt, the tears, and the dearth.

But your emptiness consumed me whole,

A hollow feeling that stole my control.

Now, I awaken from this long, dark sleep,

Realizing the truth, my heart's deep ache.

I unshackle myself from your hold,

Breaking free, my spirit starts to unfold.

Foolish heart, no more waiting in vain,

I'll learn to love myself, and love again.
