This shows that, as the economy in South Korea grows, its population will decrease with it. It has an improving healthcare that benefits the civilians, but with it, the population growth decreases.
South Korea is currently in stage 4 of the Demographic Transition Model.
This means that its birth and death rates are low but stabilizing. It has a strong economy and better education and healthcare. It also has a higher population of women in the workforce, which loweres the fertility rate. This makes it a developed country.
The South Korean government is strongly pronatalist. According to a recent news headline, βA South Korean firm is offering to pay its workers $75,000 each time they have a baby.β Since 2006, the government has spent about 270 billion dollars to promote childbirth and to reduce the declining fertility rates.

The immigration policy is that immigrants are not eligible for citizenship or permanent residency unless they are married to a South Korean citizen or if they have invested more than $500,000 into the economy.
