Thoughts after a week of Spacehey

tldr; it good.

I hate social media usually; I'm super anxious and I'm really not good at talking to people. So I usually gravitate to places more for "misfits" because I feel like there'll naturally be more in common AND more lenience for my quirks. And this site is really the most I've felt at home on like,, any social platform. I was hoping I'd feel that way about Tumblr but honestly Tumblr scares the fuck outta me, it's nice to scroll and there's an overlap in the userbase but posting on here feels a lot less intimidating to me. My little void where I can say whatever I want <33

I like that there's not a for-you-page or algorithm to any content. It makes me feel the need to prove myself/be perfect a lot less than I normally do- I don't really have to care about views or likes or anything like that. It's kinda freeing to not feel the competition or numbers games social medias usually have.

ALSO I like really enjoyed making a layout!! Even though it isn't necessarily a perfect job it was a lot of fun to do, and there's a lot of community resources for it, both in the layout section as well as the html group. It's surprisingly intuitive and there's not a shortage of people to help with any questions you might have! Which is so cool too see

Speaking of community, A lot of the people I've seen are really cool!! There's a lot of people with realllly good music tastes, as well as tastes in other media. Like 3 people I've seen with Yotsuba pfps and that really excited me; either Yotsuba is way more popular than I thought or the venn diagram of people who like Yotsuba and people who're inclined to use SpaceHey is close to a circle. Or both. A lot of you seem really cool, I haven't built up enough confidence yet to start any conversations but that's a me thing not a SpaceHey thing. Trying to start conversations makes me feel like my head it about to explode.

Anyway yeah best social media I have, the only thing I wish is that profiles had a gallery to post pictures on. But that's not an end-all-be-all.... Also maybe less gore? I haven't seen any myself but it appears to be a prevalent problem, not exactly a fun problem to have but it isn't exclusive to this site AND the people I've seen have been pretty diligent when it comes to warning others/reporting gore.
